Silver LakeBig Cottonwood Canyon, Utah |
|
| Overview: Silver Lake is one of our favorite spots to take pictures. Its gorgeous year-round and generally open to the public with fairly easy access. During the summer it features a lake with boardwalk, winding paths, softly filtered forest light. In the winter the marsh area is covered with a blanket of snow, creating a unique open meadow landscape surrounded by the towering mountains and evergreen trees. In the spring there are wildflowers that dot across the meadow and in the fall the autumn leaves turn to warm hues of gold and red. The Good: Gorgeous landscape, and a beautiful drive up and down the canyon. You’d have to be a poor photographer not to get great photos at Silver Lake. The Bad: Popular recreation spot, year-round. Access is limited during the winter as its an open cross-country ski run. Be prepared to do a fair amount of walking, certainly not a destination for wearing high-heels. Our Opinion: We love to photograph at Silver Lake. It has natural unspoiled beauty that just cant be found in the valley. Almost every time of year has something to offer here and it’s a lovely drive with fresh canyon air. |
