Tahnie and Adam were so much fun to shoot! When we found out they met in elementary school, and their relationship grew over the years. So of course, we just had to go back to school for some shots! They pulled off the logistics in getting us after-hours access to classrooms and hallways. It was awesome and we’ve certainly never done a shoot like this one before! Very unique!
It’s so fun when we’re able to draw on our clients for inspiration in our images, and it leaves them with something truly unique. Tahnie, I hope you love these shots as much as I do and I can’t wait to show you the others!

Is it against the rules to like other photographers? I hope not.
I’m a huge fan of Still-Motion, a wedding cinematography/photography studio in Canada. Their work is phenomenal and John Edgar, one of their photographers is a good friend of mine.
Anyhow, the point of the post is to share a fun idea, a “Save The Date Video”. Here is a link to one they did, I think it’s pretty cool.
PS– This isn’t the last I’ll write about Still-Motion. I’ve never seen wedding cinematography like theirs - so yeah, I’m a pretty big fan.

Whitney’s story is pretty unique. We were just wrapping up in the studio on Saturday and we got a phone call from a mother we’d never met. “Can you do some bridals right now?”
Whitney had driven down from Idaho, had her hair done and was all ready for her photoshoot when the weather turned ugly. Her photographer was unable to work in the weather. I heard it was a stressful moment, as they were trying to figure out what to do. We’ve been booked solid lately, but with a twist of luck, our afternoon and evening was clear so we said, “Sure! Come on over, we’d love to take your pictures!”
As some of you may know, the Utah State Capitol Building is now open and it’s a perfect venue for indoor bridal photography, especially in bad weather. The Hotel Monaco was also gracious in allowing us to photograph there as well.
Elise, Wendy & Whitney, we had a great time working with the three of you. It was exciting to get a phone call one moment, and then out shooting 30 minutes later. Spontaneity and creativity go hand in hand, so thank you for the opportunity!

Christy and Matt flew in from DC for a short ski vacation and some photos so I met them up in Park City for their engagement session and we couldn’t have asked for more of a beautiful day! The two of them moved to Park City after college to be able to ski all the time, so it is a special place for them. We went up and down main street and even grabbed some ice cream. They will be getting married at La Caille in July, we can’t wait to photograph it!

So, after the ceremony we went out to the Great Salt Lake for Cynthia and Matthew’s portraits. It was so cold and I felt terrible for Cynthia in her strapless gown. She was such a trooper and we got some gorgeous shots because of it!

Cynthia and Matthew flew in from Las Vegas to have their wedding in a stunning new venue in Park City called the Sky Lodge.
They had a private ceremony, the two of them and the officiant! It was so beautiful. They held the ceremony on the roof overlooking Main Street in Park City, the wedding pictures are so fun! It was sprinkling snow, but they decided to keep it outside and I loved it!
You couldn’t have a more unique wedding. The Sky Lodge is such an amazing venue, very modern style. Cynthia and Matthew’s was also the very first wedding there! After the ceremony we headed out the the Great Salt Lake for their wedding portraits - Check back tomorrow for part 2, wedding photos as the Great Salt Lake!
