Carly’s wedding was in Nauvoo, Illinois near the beginning of this month. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the small towns in the surrounding area were a photographers dream. I’ve got so many fun ideas for pictures out there, I can’t wait to go back!

So, after the ceremony we went out to the Great Salt Lake for Cynthia and Matthew’s portraits. It was so cold and I felt terrible for Cynthia in her strapless gown. She was such a trooper and we got some gorgeous shots because of it!

Cynthia and Matthew flew in from Las Vegas to have their wedding in a stunning new venue in Park City called the Sky Lodge.
They had a private ceremony, the two of them and the officiant! It was so beautiful. They held the ceremony on the roof overlooking Main Street in Park City, the wedding pictures are so fun! It was sprinkling snow, but they decided to keep it outside and I loved it!
You couldn’t have a more unique wedding. The Sky Lodge is such an amazing venue, very modern style. Cynthia and Matthew’s was also the very first wedding there! After the ceremony we headed out the the Great Salt Lake for their wedding portraits - Check back tomorrow for part 2, wedding photos as the Great Salt Lake!

Matt & Monique have a more unusual story… Think Indiana Jones. They’d known each other from school, but they fell for each other at an archaeological dig site half-way around the world in Jordan. They were digging in the hot sun and dirt, looking for ancient artifacts and instead, they found love. Hahaha! That’s the cheesiest thing I’ve written all year! But in all seriousness, it did go something like that. We took some shots at the archeology lab at the college they attended, so they can remember where it all began for them.
Monique’s mom, Sylvia was kind enough to fly us up to Walla Walla, Washington to do their wedding. We had a GREAT time with the Acosta and Vincent families. It was an international ensemble, with guests coming from Spain and Egypt. Being as they’re our last wedding for 2007, we’ve decided to post a few more images than usual.
Matt & Monique, we had a wonderful time with you and your family! We look forward to getting your album and print orders kicked out as well!

We shot this one at the beginning of September. Karrie & Kyle have been together for 8 years. They recently built a 9,000 square foot grand residence high atop a mountain in Park City. The house sits on a 20 acre lot in protected wild-life preserve. They bought an old sheep shearing barn in Roosevelt so that their house could be fitted with old barn-wood. Ceilings, floors, exterior and even some of the doors and beams came from the barn. There are thousands of board-feet of the gorgeous aged wood and it gives the house a very unique style and flair. The house has a story all it’s own…
Karrie decided to host a housewarming party, and when most everyone RSVP’d, she had another idea… She decided to turn it into her wedding, but she didn’t tell any of the guests. Remember, that’s what Julia Roberts did when she got married.
We were there under the guise of staff photographers for Utah Style & Design Magazine. BrideAccess.com was pretending to be from Hot Homes of Utah. We made sure not to blow her cover. Karrie sat everyone down and then started a slideshow of the house being built. It showed images of the construction and so forth and then went into a montage of shots they’d had taken together over the past 8 years. Then at the last minute, one of her best friends announced that they’d all actually been invited to a wedding… and Karrie marched down the aisle before the shock wore off.
Yep, not even her dear old mom and dad knew what they were in for. How cool is that?? There is nothing traditional about Karrie, she does things her own way with world class style. Instead of a dress, she bought a $1000 pair of boots and wore some styling Ralph Lauren denim. Keeping in sync with her western theme she had a mechanical bull and lots of other touches as you’ll see in the pictures. This definitely marks one of the weddings of the year, and we’re so glad Karrie picked us to photograph it for her. Have a look…

We shot Mike and Lisa’s wedding a few days back at the Manti Temple. Yesterday, they flew us down to Denver for the second part of their reception and also to get a few more shots around the area. We went up to Red Rocks Amphitheater, which was a very cool place. There are large red rocks that jet right out of the mountain side. We also went around downtown Denver and photographed at some of the government buildings (I don’t recommend it!). Lisa & Mike, we had a GREAT time with you! We really enjoyed your company. Also, Shelley, your family was so warm and hospitable, extremely attentive to our comfort and needs. We really enjoyed the visit and our chance to be part of your family for a day. You really have a great bunch, and even though you’re down in Denver we hope to work with you again sometime!

Nicki & John got married a little while back. They’re just getting back from their honeymoon so we wanted to get some shots on the blog! Nicki is starting grad school almost immediately so their life is going to get hectic for a bit. We had a great time at their wedding, Nicki’s family is so much fun. The ceremony was gorgeous, we even got a little choked up.
Here is your sneak preview guys, we can’t wait to get you into the studio to show you the rest!
