Zander: He’s Two!

Anyone who has followed my blog for a while knows that I have photographed Zander since just before birth (maternity photos). I can’t believe he is two already! We did his two year session a little while ago, and I think instead of the terrible twos he has a case of the independent twos!! He wanted to do and see everything, except for what Mom, Dad, and I wanted him to…. We got some great photos of him doing his own thing! As always I loved photographing him and we’ll do it again in 6 months! Happy Birthday Zander.

How many faces does your baby have?

Your baby pulls a thousand faces, and I know you love each one. Even the sad and mad faces are adorable in photographs! I bet you’ve noticed, as your baby develops those faces change. Those little expressions can appear for a month or two and then disappear as they keep growing.

I’ve heard so many moms say that they wish they could see “that face again.”

So, I started to create personality storyboards for younger kids. They show off all of your little one’s happiest, funniest, and maddest faces so you can continue to cherish them forever!

Do you want to catch those fleeting expressions in a photograph? Call Heidi at (801)550-5605 for details and scheduling.

The Bartons: Shivers & Brrrrrs

We have started doing “poster prints” for kids and families. Today’s post may look a little different because there are multiple photos in each print instead of multiple single photos. The idea is a some fun shots that kids can display in their room and feel like a rockstar! When I started looking through the Bartons photos I knew they would be perfect to show off our new idea. Kinda fun, right?

We went to city creek park to have a little winter fun. As soon as we got there it started to snow a little. Tis the season, ehy? So we had some hot cocoa, made some snow angels, and trounced all around the park.

Brooke, how fun were these? We hope you like them as much as we do and we can’t WAIT to show you the rest!

Nephews: A Barrel of Laughs

Jared and Nicole have 5 nephews. They keep a wall in their house dedicated just to these boys, and seeing they have grown quite a bit lately they decided it was time to update. I was totally excited when they asked me to do photograph the boys for them. The boy laughed and played the whole time, which makes it pretty easy to get some fun candids of them. We are photographing Jared and Nicole’s wedding in July and seeing that there are no little girls in the family yet, I am holding out for the two for you to be the first!!

P.S. Heidi is a great name when you need to start looking for one!

Karrie and Kyle’s Family: High Altitude.

You probably remember Karrie and Kyle from their celebrity style wedding on September first. This wedding was also on the BrideAccess TV show as well.

Last weekend, they invited us back up for family portraits up at their gorgeous home in Park City. Karrie found a spot above their place with lots of trees and logs, very rustic. We also did some shots in and around their awesome property. Karrie and Kyle both ride Harleys, so at the end of the evening, we also did a few shots on those.

Seriously Karrie, your family is soo much fun to work with! We’ve been so blessed to have met you, and we look forward to doing more great things for you in the future!

The Izatt’s: Tut Tut. It looks like rain.

Oy! It’s always so nerve racking taking pictures for another photographer! However, it’s also exciting…

We recently had the opportunity to work with Dustin & Tiffany Izatt, of Digital Izatt Photography. They’re good friends of ours, with some WAY cute kids.

We scheduled the sitting 3 weeks in advance. We woke up the morning of the shoot, and the sky was grey. We called Tiffany, and she said, “So what? We’ve got umbrellas and galoshes!” Definitely our type of client! Even better, her girls LOVE to play in the rain!

The photos prove a point. A good photographer can get GREAT photos anywhere, anytime. Family sessions usually slow down this time of year because people think they won’t turn out. We beg to differ. We’d love to photograph a snowball fight, building a snowman, or sipping hot cocoa on the back porch (so call us, okay?!).

All four seasons present unique photo opportunities in Utah. Let’s take advantage of them, kay?

Dustin & Tiff, thanks for letting us be a part of your day. We had such a fun time taking these pictures with you and your family and we look forward to the next sitting!

Family Portraits

People ask us all the time if we do family portraits. The answer is YES. We love photographing kids in particular. We have our own style and like to do a mix of the formal portrait and some fun “Your Family” portraits. By this we mean we like to, when we can, capture your family being “your family.” What does your family do together? From hot cocoa and story time, to baseball games or snowboarding, we want you to have the photos to remember it. These are the funnest, least stressful sessions on you and your kids. No worrying about whether the kids are looking and smiling at the camera. Everyone gets to just be themselves.

A few weekends ago Tim and I were photographing a wedding and met Erin Blackwelder and her beautiful family. We talked a little bit about family photos and how adorable her girls are. A few days later she called us up to see if we could do her and two of her neighbors family photos up in Alpine. I was so excited, I absolutely love Alpine and this time of year it is just gorgeous. We set a date that everyone could do them and they turned out fantastic. The next three post are all of the Alpine neighbors I hope you all love these!
