Melissa & Mike: Beach Cruisin’

Meet Melissa and Mike. Mike does video editing (and has a Mac that I’m quite jealous of). Melissa works at Revolution Utah. What do they have in common? They’re both WAY into biking, as in cycling. It was obvious, we had to take shots on bikes, but mountain bikes aren’t always photogenic, BEACH CRUISERS are. We took these two all over Salt Lake City on their bikes and got so many moments along the way. This was a ton of fun, we had a great time with you guys, check out the photos!

Michele & Glyn - The Fashionables.

Michele & Glyn were such a blast. Michele has gorgeous eyes, they’re full of light she has an absolutely sweet glow about her. She’s a natural model. Do you see the first shot? One of our other clients said she looks very coy, and how true! Glyn is british, and he has the most dreamy accent and soft voice. I wish I could blog a soundbyte of him speaking, it’d make you girls melt!

These two both have fine taste, wearing their designer jeans and shoes. So what did we do? We took them to a steel scrap yard and got ‘em dirty. For real. We sure got ‘em dirty, but just look at these photos! Guys, this was a very fun shoot. I seriously cant wait to do bridals and of course… THE event. Check out the photos and let us know what you think?

Mike & Lisa: Destination Denver.

We shot Mike and Lisa’s wedding a few days back at the Manti Temple. Yesterday, they flew us down to Denver for the second part of their reception and also to get a few more shots around the area. We went up to Red Rocks Amphitheater, which was a very cool place. There are large red rocks that jet right out of the mountain side. We also went around downtown Denver and photographed at some of the government buildings (I don’t recommend it!). Lisa & Mike, we had a GREAT time with you! We really enjoyed your company. Also, Shelley, your family was so warm and hospitable, extremely attentive to our comfort and needs. We really enjoyed the visit and our chance to be part of your family for a day. You really have a great bunch, and even though you’re down in Denver we hope to work with you again sometime!

Michelle & Dave - Straight Up Fun..!

Michelle & David win for the goofiest couple this year. They were a BLAST to hang out with. We did their shots on the golf course since they both have clubs. I don’t know how many quail we knocked unconscious at the driving range, but there were a few. Ooops! Also, we got some awesome shots up Millcreek canyon next to the campfire. Notice the toasting marshmallows? Oh yes, we did partake. Here are some of the awesome shots of this totally fun couple!

Diane & Ray: The Engagements.

We did Diane & Ray’s pictures a little while back and decided it was high time they get posted on the blog. Their wedding is this Saturday, and we’re soo excited. Diane & Ray are Japanese and portions of their ceremony will be traditional. We’re so excited to see some of the Japanese marriage customs and of course, the Kimonos. Here are the shots guys, of course you’ve seem them already but we just had to share them with the rest of the world!

Davina Tagged Us.

What’s tagging? Well, as far as I can tell it’s something that goes on between bloggers. You get “tagged” as in, “Tag, you’re it!” and then it’s your turn to post eight things about yourself that few people know about you. Davina tagged us, so, feeling compelled to give something good, here are our eight. Heidi and I both collaborated on these, some are her answers, some are mine… so, here we go:

1. Heidi and I met in photography class. We found out we had more in common than our choice in film, hit it off and then got married. The day after our honeymoon, we registered our business name and set up shop.

2. Heidi has never been invited to a wedding that she wasn’t shooting. That’s right, she’s never attended a wedding as a guest. The only weddings she’s been to she’s photographed. Kinda crazy. Is that irony? I don’t know…

3. We both secretly fantasize about crashing a wedding. We think we could totally get away with showing up, regifting one of the 10 toasters we got from our wedding and hoarking some hors d’oeuvres (yes, I looked it up). We might even try and sneak a piece of cake. We’ll let you know when we’ve done it, and we might take some cell phone pictures as proof. Are we the only ones that’ve ever thought about doing that?

4. Tim takes me shopping… and he enjoys it… and he picks things out. He takes me makeup and clothes shopping and loves to make selections for me. This makes girls jealous, and I admit it’s totally not fair. While most women are in the dressing room, most guys sit on the bench, waiting and complaining. Tim is out in the store finding another outfit for me. To his credit, he is a pretty decent designer and sometimes he’s better at picking colors and patterns than I am. I hate going shopping without him.

5. Tim likes musicals, he even sings along with me and learns the lyrics. I know, I’m just not letting him be much of a man today, huh?

6. Tim never officially proposed to me. Yeah, you heard that right… and yes, we are officially married. So how do you go from not married to married without ever formally popping the question? It can be done. Yes, I still gripe about it and I’m still waiting for Tim to ask. It’s not his fault, but it is another story. So, do ask us about it sometime if you want to know more.

7. We both seek out “dive” restaurants, because they have some of the best food. Name an ethnicity, and chances are we know a great place to eat. Hungry for chinese, want to spend $10? Ask us. Looking for Persian food, we can make some recommendations.

8. Everyone has a crazy little secret, and we’re no exception. This one doesn’t get posted on the blog, and we’re not going to tell either, not even if you ask us. It’s not scandalous, but it would be somewhat shocking. It’s petty and trivial, but it’s just something only the two of us know. It’s kind of fun whenever it comes up in conversation because we know something that no one else in the world knows. So for everyone else out there that has a crazy little secret, we’ve got one too. :)

So there it is, 8 things about us. Now, I’m supposed to tag some other blogging friends… So here goes:

Brody Dezember
Dustin Izatt
Stacy Young
Duston Todd
David Perry (AWESOME Videographer)

Nicki & John: It Happened.

Nicki & John got married a little while back. They’re just getting back from their honeymoon so we wanted to get some shots on the blog! Nicki is starting grad school almost immediately so their life is going to get hectic for a bit. We had a great time at their wedding, Nicki’s family is so much fun. The ceremony was gorgeous, we even got a little choked up.

Here is your sneak preview guys, we can’t wait to get you into the studio to show you the rest!

Jessica & Brett: They’re Gonna Be Famous.

We photographed this wedding a little while back, up at the Bountiful temple. Jessica & Brett were so much fun to hang out with. We enjoyed every second of it. After we were done shooting their portraits at the temple, they were headed down to Nielsen’s Frozen Custard for a treat that is truly Bountiful. We knew those would be some great shots, so we insisted on coming along.

As for the title of the blog post? Jessica & Brett -ARE- going to be famous. I’ll give you more details on that when it actually happens. For now, it’s our little secret guys, and I’ll let you spill the beans when you’re ready. :)
